VATICAN CITY: HONOURS-LIST

The twenty-eighth edition of the Vatican City's league championship is currently in full swing, but the very first championship, the Coppa Amicizia, was held in 1973; seven teams - Governatorato, Musei Vaticani, Astor Osservatore Romano, Radio Vaticana, Sampietrini, Tipografia Poliglotta and Vigilanza - took part, with Astor Osservatore Romano finishing as champions and Governatorato as runners-up.

The country's league championship has been known as the Campionato Calcio Vaticano - or just the Campionato Vaticano - since it was rejigged and expanded in 1981. Dirseco have won the most championships (seven), but have not competed since their last triumph in 2012. San Pietro won the 2013 and 2014 editions, but disappeared at the end of the 2015 season. Musei Vaticani are the current holders of the Campionato Calcio Vaticano, having won it for only the second time last season; it was their first championship success in more than thirty years.

They also hold the Coppa Sergio Valci, which is more commonly known as the Coppa Vaticana and was posthumously re-named after the former president of the Attività Calcistica Dipendenti Vaticani (the Vatican FA) who died in late 2012. Dirseco are the most successful team in the history of cup competition in the Vatican, having won it five times.

They have also won the Supercoppa, which was introduced in 2007, twice. Cirioni AS were the first winners of the tournament, but have seemingly disappeared into oblivion.

The Clericus Cup, a competition involving teams representing various seminaries in the Rome area, also saw the light of day in 2007, and is regarded by many in the media and the general public as being the Vatican's equivalent of the FA Cup. However, this is erroneous as the competition is held under the control of the Italian Sports Confederation and not the ACDV.

Please find below the honours lists for all three competitions held under the aegis of the ACDV: the Campionato Calcio Vaticano and the Supercoppa Vaticana.
